Welcome to Rosebud Reservation!

It's been a pretty eventful week since I've been transferred onto the Native American reservation (Rosebud), so here's my update!

I got to meet most of the ward members and see our church and our house! All 3 are super small haha! Our trailer is a few feet away from the church and the church is about the size of a Walgreens lol.

I've been able to wear a very different apparel on the reservation though which is new, we've been wearing black jeans and cowboy boots so that's pretty cool!

My new companion Elder Ieremia is super awesome and we get along really well so that's super cool! There are some Wild dogs on the reservation so we have to be careful but it's just been fun overall!

We were able to give a blessing this week to a member and her husband who own a ranch and it looks like we're gonna be helping them with pheasant hunting and fencing and a bunch of ranch work with the cows and ice fishing when it gets cold enough for service so I'm excited for that! I'm definitely learning a lot about being a farm boy out here honestly hahaha!

Anyways guys it's been super awesome and I actually have less time on Pdays for personal emails since we're about a 2 hour drive away from meeting up with the other missionaries so we don't have a lot of time to email, but I'll try my best to responds to personals today but if I don't get to it please forgive me lol.

First Transfer!

 Sorry for the delay, our P day is actually Tuesday because of transfers happening tomorrow!

Now I don't have a lot to report or a lot of time so I will 100% make more of an effort and make time to respond to people next week but...

I have some exciting news! I am going to transfer to the Rosebud Native American reservation!!! For reference, if you look up the Pine Ridge Native American reservation its right next to it! I hope to have some cool experiences, we wear jeans and cowboy boots on the reservation so that's gonna be a fun experience lol. I hope to have a lot of cool and humbling experiences there and I move Wednesday so I'm sure I'll have a story or two by Monday! I love all of you so much.

You Ever Get That Feeling Of Dejà Vú? Week 5

Hey everyone!

So glad to be writing to you all again! It's been a heck of a week and I'm excited to share it with you guys!

This week I am happy to announce that we have our first person who's on date to be baptized on August 27th. He has a really cool name and he's awesome! It's been so cool being able to teach him lessons and to be able to feel the spirit and finally be able to put him on schedule to be baptized! I hope I'm able to personally baptize him since he doesn't have any member family so fingers crossed and I'll definitely send pictures of after the baptism when the time comes! 

I'm also happy but also a little but bummed to announce that my first transfer is almost at its end! It's been a bunch of fun here and I hope I get to stay in my area, which is likely but you never know, my companion is super legit so I hope to keep him as my trainer.

That's most of the super big news, but other than that it's been really chill and we've found a lot of new people this week that really want to learn and grow and become more invested into the gospel

Week 4 Updates

I can't believe it's been a month in the actual field and two months on my official mission time. It's been really awesome being able to serve here in Rapid City, SD and I wish I could share every day with you guys. We had a few things happen this week.... we had Zone Conference! And it was awesome, we had team bonding exercises and had food on the McCartney's ranch, it was a blast!

This week we hosted a booth outside of Mt. Rushmore. We talk about Family History and invite people to put their name on a map where they are from. It is funny that members will stop and take a picture of us, and then send those pics to my mom! Here are two that were taken:

We also went on a hike on Monday. Here is a turtle that I found. It is very beautiful here!
